About this event

Join stonemason Richard Noviss on this Introduction to Letter Carving workshop taking place at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London, organised by the Prince's Foundation.

The workshop begins with an introduction from the tutor on the tools and limestone you will be using and then a demonstration on the tool handling and techniques for cutting stone. Participants will then get hands-on by practicing the techniques as shown in the demonstration before working on your final piece where you will carve a letter.

This workshop is designed for those with little to no experience in letter carving. All materials will be provided on this course. Participants should wear clothes they don't mind getting a little dirty and no open toed shoes.

A 30 minute lunch break is included within the session, lunch is not provided but participants are welcome to bring their own or go to one of the two cafes at Trinity Buoy Wharf.
