Flint work and masonry repairs carried out on St. Lawrence Church, IpswichThere is a wonderful opportunity to join Specialist Historic Building Conservation contractor F.A. Valiant and Son Ltd. for a 12 month placement, carrying out flint and brick-work repairs at a range of sites in the Suffolk/East Anglia region.

Valiant and Son Ltd logoThe Placement will be based at various projects in East Anglia carrying out flint and brickwork repairs, repointing and other work as required on suitable heritage projects in the Region. The candidate will be provided with a broad range of learning opportunities to obtain suitable skills and evidence working towards a level 3 Heritage Skills NVQ Diploma in brickwork. F. A. Valiant is a specialist Historic Building Conservation contractor with a wide portfolio of public and private clients.

Heritage Lottery Fund logoThe placement is run by the National Heritage Training Group bursary scheme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The scheme is all about finding passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated people to be trained to work on England’s traditional buildings. There will be 30 educational bursaries offered, working on live heritage sites across England. The bursaries are being organised across the country by regional heritage coordinators.
