About this event

This NHTG two day course will be held on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th November in a built heritage crafts workshop in Bristol with live demonstrations and talks. There will be demonstrations in the workshop of lime mortar rendering, decorative plaster moulding, heavy post and beam construction, cruciform Jacobean window construction and more.

There will be examples of timber frame models and complex roofing styles including octagonal and hexagonal spires. There will also be displays of stone and brick walling and stone carving. There will be opportunities for delegates to have a go at some of the crafts.  Full Programme coming soon.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in built heritage: contractors, homeowners, craftspeople and students.

Programme

There will be a combination of static displays, projected pictures, talks, demonstrations and hands on experiences.

Opening times Fri 10.00 am - 4.00 pm & Sat 10.00 am  - 2.00 pm

There will be site tours which will incorporate an opportunity to work with decorative plaster at the following times:
Friday: am 10.00, 12.00, pm 2.00
Sat am 10.00 & 12.00.

Groups are advised to book in advance.

Representatives will be available to discuss training opportunities in the specialist skills crafts: Stone Masonry, Lime Render, Decorative Plaster, Scagliola, Heavy Post & Beam Construction, Carpentry & Wood Occupations.
