LEVEL 2 COURSES

Level 2 courses are those equivalent to a grade C-A* GCSE qualification. 

There is also a L2 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Apprenticeship Framework

 

Level 2 Heritage Award

There are currently 2 awarding bodies that offer a Level 2 Heritage Award and these are Ascentis and ABC. A training provider can become an ABC or Ascentis Approved Centre for the delivery of these courses.  Click on the heading to find out which training providers offer these courses.

L2 Heritage Apprenticeships

There is a L2 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Apprenticeship Framework which is available for any suitable training provider to become approved to deliver.
Heritage Craft Alliance have developed their own L2 Heritage Apprenticeship through the City & Guild Awarding Body

This course provides an intensive introduction to historic timber-framed structures.

RC1 19: Repair of Old Buildings Course

Run over five days, this course delivers an intensive programme of lectures and visits to building repair projects. It runs twice a year - in the spring and the autumn.

This course covers the history of traditional slate and stone roofing but mainly concentrates on their conservation and repair.
